The project Pavor Nocturnus was born in Milan in 2013 from an idea by Eugenio Mazza. The initial desire is to return the suggestions of different arts, such as theater and cinema, through electronic composition.
After having created stage music for some theatrical performances, a first Ep takes place called "Trilogia Teatrale", published in free download and characterized by a mixture of ambient, death metal and samples of recited texts.
"Witches" is the first official album, published and distributed by D.M.T. Records. The concept is based on the fascination and the terror aroused by these figures and their rituality.
Following the release, the disc is also proposed in live venue with different dates in Milan, Madrid and Montreal.
"Sognomeccanico", published in May 2018 again by the Canadian label, is realized in collaboration with the Australian musician Tim McGee (Versuscode). The sound of the album veers towards a more abstract and dreamlike dimension, in an ambient, drone and industrial amalgam.
During 2018 the project also took part in the "Silenzio! Suona il Cinema "held at the Argòmm theater in Milan, with the live soundtrack of the masterpieces of silent cinema" The Battleship Potemkin "by SM Ejzenstejn, realized with the pianist Gianluigi Bozzi, and" The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari "by R. Wiene.
At the moment a new record is being produced inspired by the works of the Dutch painter H. Bosch.
The song is an unpublished piece made specifically for the compilation "Forest Of Thorns: A Dornwald Compilation" in February 2019.
It is built on vocal samples of Russian deep bass and guitar feedback, and also traces of field recordings, an Electron Digitakt groovebox and several virtual instruments were used.
