Cameraoscura is the name of the project behind which are hidden Marco Valenti (mastermind of Toten Schwan Records) and Eugenio Mazza (Pavor Nocturnus).
The collaboration starts in 2018 with the intent to merge the styles of the two musicians to create a dark and threatening sound, drawing on different backgrounds (not only musically speaking) and pursuing a free experimentation from the dictates of the genre.
The first result is the album "Quod Est Inferius", published by Toten Schwan Records (Cd) and Teschio Dischi (Tape), where on the background of the alchemical / esoteric theme concept are 7 tracks ranging from dark ambient to trance, from drone to industrial, mixed as ingredients in a cauldron by the two alchemists, in search of their own chimera.
Some of the songs on the album were included in the Christmas mixtape of the DioDrone label and in the compilation "Black Solitude" by Chandler Records.
The duo also collaborated with the musician Bad Girl for the collection "Borders Remanufactured", revisiting the song "rwo".
The song was conceived and sketched in the winter of 2016, during which the work of drawing up the bass and synth lines and a temporary rhythmic base was carried out; later the original idea was elaborated and rearranged for the compilation "Forest Of Thorns: A Dornwald Compilation" in February 2019.
Drones have been made through Rucci Handmade drone boxes (Maximal Drone and Eight Step Sequencer), processed through ProCo Rat and TC Electronic pedals; the rest of the sounds (synth and drums) have been realized through virtual instruments and digital drum machines, to which audio samples of fragments of speeches in crowded places are superimposed.
