Valerio Orlandini is an Italian musician and sound designer. His artistic research revolves around the correspondence between sounds and other forms of expression (mainly words and images) and the intersection among different media.
Active since 2005 with the ambient project Symbiosis, during the last years he took part in several live events and released a handful of recordings, exploring unusual sounds at the borders between dark ambient/industrial music and electroacoustic research, without forgetting the passion for black metal.
He often collaborated with other musicians, directors and photographers to give a broader sense to his research and to create an organic world, where it is up to the audience to decide whether explore it in its entirety or to concentrate on a particular point of view.
His last work is “7 Pieces” (2018), a collection of electroacoustic compositions made in different times and places.
The track for this compilation was initially conceived in 2013, but it has been finished only in 2019. It is a meeting point between dark ambient and early industrial music, with a martial touch.
Synthesizers, samplers and treated sounds were used to depict an apocalyptic scenery, something like a dystopia put into music.
