‘Northwind’ was created in 2010 By Matt (AKA Winterdemon) also known for been the musician behind the solo black metal project Darkened Winter.
This project was created in order to express other sounds in the style of ambient / atmospheric / medieval folk music.
Northwind has released 5 albums and been apart of a number of split releases.
As well as had tracks featured on compilation albums “From the Catacombs” (Black Death Industry Label) & “Mechanical Souls: A Tribute to H.R Giger” (Do What Thou Wilt Records).
The track Tunglsljosi (English meaning Moonlight) is taken from the 2018 album 'Vid Solina' (English meaning 'By The Sun').
The album was written using digital synthesizer programs and recorded independently in late 2018. It was an album written in dedication of Matt’s newborn son.
